JACKSON ASSOCIATION OF NEIGHBORHOODS PROJECT RESTART
Project Restart is an initiative of the Jackson Association of Neighborhoods and is designed to assist small neighborhood associations/block clubs and homeowners associations beautify and enhance neighborhood entryways through the use of landscaping and/or signage. Successful applicants are those whose proposals demonstrate community partnerships and have crime reduction as part of their project objective.
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
Applications for this round of funding must be submitted no later than May 30th, 2010 by 5:00 pm
PROJECT COMPLETION DATES:
All projects must be completed by Dec 31, 2010.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Neighborhood and Homeowners Associations who are registered members of the Jackson Association of Neighborhoods who need assistance with beautification efforts and do not have federal non- profit status.
WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Associations who have obtained federal non-profit status (501(c)3 status are not eligible for funding under Project Restart.
WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS ARE FUNDED?
Types of projects funded under the Project Restart Program include: Landscaping of neighborhood entryways, signage project to place signs at neighborhood entryways or placement of signs designed to increase neighborhood beautification efforts such as yard of the month signs bearing association names or beautification of a common area such as green spaces in the middle of a boulevard. Other projects would include efforts to beautify the green space of a local neighborhood storefront to create curb appeal for selected neighborhoods.
WHAT WE DO NOT FUND
Project Restart does not fund neighborhood parties, food or other incidentals for meetings or re-gifting programs, prizes of any type or for any purpose.
WHAT AN APPLICATION SHOULD INCLUDE
Each application must include specific starting and ending dates, a complete description of the project to be funded including types of plant materials, signage or other beautification materials to be used and the exact location to be enhanced. Applications must also include the names of other volunteer organizations participating in your beautification project. Applicants should also include a brief problem statement describing the current appearance and/or condition of the area you are working on and a statement about how you expect your project to change this condition. Please include a brief paragraph telling us how crime will be affected through your project.
